Aniruddhacharya Maharaj

Islamophobic Remarks :

Aniruddhacharya Maharaj is from the Madhya Pradesh city of Jabalpur. He is a well-known Kathawachak (storyteller), and hundreds of followers go from all over India to his events. Maharaj entertains his followers with tales from Hindu mythology and offers spiritual pleasure, but his spiritual persona also has a darker side.

He promotes anti-Muslim conspiracy theories and is a supporter of the Hindu Rashtra (country). He spreads Hindu nationalist propaganda using his big fan base.

His home state’s government, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which also supports him politically, is strong. The state’s home minister, Narottam Mishra, as well as other prominent Hindu nationalist figures frequently go to him for his approval.

He indoctrinates his followers, who revere him and obey his instructions, with anti-Muslim propaganda interspersed throughout his narratings.

At one such gathering, he claimed that Hindu daughters leave the house talking about reading and writing and go to the movies and eat popcorn while peddling the lie of “love jihad.” He claimed that one day the girl will leave the house for the sake of love without telling anyone. The girl is then sliced into 35 pieces in the name of that love (alluding to Shraddha Walker’s slaying). This is what your love has produced. At the ‘Bhagvat Katha’ gathering in Jaipur, Rajasthan, he was giving a speech.

Similar to this, he promoted the exclusive notion of Hindu Rashtra at another gathering by urging his adherents to embrace their cultural Hindu identity by donning traditional dhoti-kurtas and wearing tilaks (holy marks) on their foreheads. He declared, “We Hindus must change if Hindu Rashtra (nation) is to be realized.”

Maharaj promotes cow vigilantism and declares it to be a requirement for all Hindus. It goes without saying that such invocations by religious leaders empower criminals who slaughter Muslims in mobs under the guise of defending cows.
