Islamophobic Remarks :
In the Indian state of Rajasthan, Sadhvi Kamal, also known as Sadhvi Kamal Didi, is the leader of an infamous cow vigilante gang. She leads the women’s division of the Rashtriya Gau Raksha Dal on a national level.
At the age of 12, Kamlesh Sharma—her birth name—found a mentor in Acharya Yogendra Arya, the president of the Rashtriya Gau Raksha Dal’s chapter in Haryana and a member of the state government’s Gau Sewa Aayog. Later, she and her parents relocated to Rajasthan where she took the name Sadhvi Kamal.
After the BJP-led government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi took office at the Centre, her cow vigilante squad started to operate. Simply because she is suspected of eating beef, she has been charged with harming members of the minority Muslim community.
In Jaipur, Rajasthan, Kamal allegedly besieged a Muslim guesthouse for serving beef in March 2017. Later, she also attacked hotel staff members.
In April 2017, Kamal compared a defendant in the Phelu Khan cow lynching case to revolutionary leaders Chandra Shekhar Azad and Bhagat Singh.
“The entire nation is behind you. Who will carry out such actions in our nation if we do not? You have nothing to be concerned about, she said.
Some of her contentious remarks include:
“Cow smuggling will not be permitted. And we’re not going to let them get killed. Whoever wishes to remain in India does so as a Hindu. Since this is our country, we should rule it and have our way with everything. Anyone who dislikes it is free to travel to Pakistan.
