Islamophobic Remarks :
New Delhi-based journalist and social worker Swati Goel Sharma. She currently collaborates with the far-right Hindi internet publication Swarajya. Additionally, she cofounded Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation, a non-profit organization that she says is committed to the “welfare of the marginalized and disadvantaged section of society.”
Her social work and journalism serve as a front for Sharma, a bigoted anti-Muslim Hindu supremacist. Her affiliation with the Hindu nationalist publication Swarajya and even a quick examination of the writings she has contributed to the publication stinks of prejudice and bigotry against Muslims.
Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation, a purported NGO, primarily aids those who are thought to be “Love Jihad” victims.
The group’s co-founders, Sharma and Sanjeev Newar, are a part of the larger Hindu far-right ecosystem, which also includes numerous other anti-Muslim and pro-Hindu nationalists like Anand Ranganathan, J Sai Deepak, and others.
Sharma and Newar cofounded the website “Gems of Bollywood,” which rates Hindi movies for their “ingrained” anti-Hindu and pro-Muslim elements. They both collaborated to a book that demonizes Muslim women who wear the hijab.
She is a fervent proponent of conspiracy theories against Muslims. She consistently publishes skewed video on YouTube and writes for the Swarajya in an effort to legitimize the love jihad myth. Goel presented a “ground report” following the horrifying death of a girl in New Delhi, which came to the conclusion that it was an act of Love Jihad. The ‘Love Jihad’ allegations have been completely denied by the victim’s parents and family.
She has a history of publishing articles for Swarajya that are offensive to Muslims. Her articles frequently spread conspiracy theories or anti-Muslim sentiments, fostering animosity. She has particularly concentrated on decrying the headscarf custom, spreading untrue information about conversion to another religion, and disparaging Muslim clerics and officials.
She frequently makes fun of Indian cattle-related crimes and mob lynching victims.
Goel authored a lengthy dissertation calling the BBC documentary “India, The Modi Question,” which detailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s involvement in the Gujarat anti-Muslim massacre in 2002, a “Smear Campaign Against India’s Majority And Its Elected Government.”
