Islamophobic Remarks :
Leader of the Hindu nationalist movement Avneendra Pratap Singh, also known as Ajju Chauhan, hails from the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. He is currently the national spokesperson for Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha, an affiliate of Sangh Parivar, and was previously the state co-convener of Bajrang Dal.
Chauhan has spearheaded divisive Sangh Parivar initiatives in Uttar Pradesh over the years, dividing the populace. He has devoted a great deal of effort to mainstream the love-jihad conspiracy theory with the express intent of harming Muslims.
“The Hindu girls need to realize that when certain religious youths flaunt their seeming wealth, it is a trap for them. After the females fall into their trap and start dating, they transport the girls to the Gulf countries where they are sold to wealthy individuals. As Chauhan told India Today, “We have made the decision to shield our daughters from Love Jehadis.”
He arranged an event in December 2014 in Agra where 300 impoverished Muslims were coerced into becoming Hindus. A few individuals were enticed by the prospect of financial gains.
In the same year, he started the “Bahu lao, beti bachao” campaign, which he claimed was meant to stop the nation’s Muslims from waging “love jihad.”
“To prevent Hindu girls from ‘falling into the trap’ of ‘love jihadis’ is the campaign’s goal. In order to teach Muslim or Christian girls the rich cultural and traditional traditions of Hinduism, it also aims to make them daughters-in-law in Hindu households, he said.
Under the auspices of the Hindu Mahasabha, Chauhan started a “reverse Love Jihad” campaign in December 2017 with the goal of matching 2,100 Muslim girls with Hindu boys.
He declared, “We will impart a lesson in their native tongue to the Muslims.”
