Islamophobic Remarks :
The spokesperson for Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), a sister organization of the militant Hindu movement Sanatan Sanstha, is Dr. Uday Dhuri. He served as the organization’s previous Mumbai District Coordinator. Narendra Dabholkar, a campaigner against superstition, was allegedly murdered in 2013 by members of the HJS.
Dhrui played a key role in planning the 2017 Hindutva summit in Goa, which developed a plan to create a “Hindu Rashtra” in India by 2023.
Additionally, he is the head of HJS’ propaganda branch, which spreads hoaxes about love jihad and forced conversions to Christianity and Islam.
He advocated against the plan to rename a public garden in Govandi, Mumbai, after Tipu Sultan, the king of Mysore, and instead advocated for naming it after a Hindu king. This was in July 2021.
“Today, a garden is being named after Tipu Sultan; tomorrow, a monument can be renamed in honor of a brutal Mughal ruler who shattered our nation. Hindus will be offended by the decision. According to him, the garden ought to be named for one of our great monarchs like Shivaji Maharaj who respected all religions equally.
