Louisiana State University awarded Giovanni Santostasi a Ph.D. in astronomy. His areas of interest are memory, intelligence, and awareness. He also researches how sleep affects memory processing and storage. Neural networks, biomechanics, and computational neuroscience are some of his study topics. His work involves intellectual property (IP) that is seeking patent that was developed at Northwestern University with the intention of improving memory consolidation and deep, restorative sleep, especially for the elderly.
