Islamophobic Remarks :
Hadasa Karavanibozak, 48, was caught on camera November 7, 2023, hurling hot coffee at a man dressed in a keffiyeh who was of Indian heritage. She says to him in the video, “I hope your baby burns in an oven.” The event happened at Fort Greene’s Edmonds Playground on DeKalb Avenue.
Hadasa Karavanibozak faced charges of hate crime assault, reckless endangerment, and harassment following the reporting of this incident to the local police.
