Islamophobic Remarks :
Hailey Ornstein Toch, an Indiana University (IU) student, made virulently racist comments about a Palestinian student in a video that she uploaded to TikTok on September 1, 2023.
Hailey describes in the since-deleted video an incident between her roommate and their Palestinian neighbor. She claims that when a fellow student came on her door to introduce himself, she was getting ready to attend to a party. Her roommate then revealed that the man was Palestinian.

“He probably wants to kill me,” she told her roommate, telling him he was not welcome in their flat and they were not to interact with him. Hailey declared, “I’m obviously very proud to be Jewish.” Should I have known that he was from Palestine, I never would have opened the door for him. She made a clear threat at the end of the video, stating that she would have her “pepper spray ready to go” if her Palestinian neighbor approached her once more.
Before being expelled for being Palestinian, Hailey said that her Palestinian neighbor had volunteered to assist her get into the elite IBW (Investment Banking Workshop), which places students in top investment banking businesses.
