Islamophobic Remarks :
Dr. Jennifer Hirsch (@SleepPsychDoc on X) liked a tweet on October 31, 2023, accusing the Health Ministry of Gaza of assigning “random names” to casualties after Israel bombed a camp for refugees.
Bio :
Dr. Hirsch finished her psychiatry residency at the University of Toronto. Her fellowship is in sleep medicine as well. After majoring in statistics and mathematics at McGill University, she completed her Doctor of Medicine at the University of Calgary-Cumming School of Medicine.
Dr. Hirsch treats a variety of sleep problems at the Toronto Sleep Institute, such as hypersomlenence, insomnia, and breathing and movement issues associated with sleeplessness. She also treats individuals with mental disorders throughout pregnancy and after giving birth as a Reproductive Psychiatrist. In addition to practicing interpersonal psychotherapy, Dr. Hirsch oversees the Mount Sinai Hospital’s Perinatal Mindfulness Meditation program. Finally, Dr. Hirsch works at the Emergency Department of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, where he oversees resident-trainees.
