Islamophobic Remarks :
Mahant Naval Kishore Das is a member of the Hindu militant group Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and is known as Mahamandaleshwar, a monk of superior rank, in the Ramayani tradition.
He supports the notion of Hindu supremacy and the idea of the “Hindu Rashtra” (Hindu nation) as a VHP member.
He once claimed that Lord Hanuman, a Hindu god, is the progenitor of Muslims in an attempt to impose the monolithic Hindu identity on Muslims. Muslims should be proud of their lineage and ancestry, he continued.
In the 1990s, Das was in the vanguard of the Ram Mandir movement, which resulted in the destruction of the Babri Masjid and subsequent anti-Muslim riots across India.
He has been similarly passionate about calling for the construction of a Ram Temple on the site of the Babri Masjid. He declared in public while inciting Hindus to fight,
“Koi maa ka lal nahi rok sakta, balidan lenge bhi aur zaroorat padi to denge bhi. No one can stop us; we will kill and be killed if necessary.
He frequently uses scare tactics to incite Hindu animosity toward Muslims and mentions Akhand Bharat (United India), Sanatan, and Vedic tradition and culture.
It is no secret that he enjoys the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He displays eulogies that praise Yogi Adityanath, the radical monk and chief minister of Uttar Pradesh. Das contends that Yogi is a good monk acting in accordance with his’religious obligation’ as the state’s Chief Minister.
He promotes the religious conversion myth, asserting that India was once a Hindu nation and that religious conversion occurred there under duress and with force. Hindu saints are currently leading “Ghar wapsi” programs that encourage former Hindus to revert to their ancestral faith of Hinduism.
His anti-Islam viewpoint holds that whereas women are respected and worshipped in Hinduism, they are subject to ‘Halala’ and ‘talaq’ and are treated like objects in Islam. Muslims are so abandoning Islam and reverting back to Hinduism.
Mahant Naval Kishore Das asked Hindus to arm themselves and commit a genocide against Muslims at a VHP gathering in 2022.
India Today said that he said, “Get guns. Obtain licenses. Don’t worry if you don’t obtain a license. Do they who come to kill you have permits? Why then do you require a license? “If we all come together,” he proclaimed, “even the commissioner of the Delhi Police will offer us tea and let us do what we want.”
