Manish Kashyap

Islamophobic Remarks :

Journalist Manish Kashyap hails from Champaran in the Bihar state and describes himself as the “Son of Bihar.” He is the owner of the ‘SACH TAK NEWS’ YouTube channel, which has more than six million members. He has become extremely well-liked among the Hindi-speaking population of northern India thanks to his theatrics and crass sensationalist “reporting,” frequently with the aid of fake news and Hindu nationalist propaganda. His 4 million Facebook followers and more than 72,000 Twitter followers are indicators of his popularity. His Twitter account, however, was suddenly suspended.

His ties to the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), a Hindu extremist group, are pretty clear given the frequency with which he tweets images of himself sporting their garb and engaging in drills at their training facilities. It is unnecessary to discuss his ideological commitment to the Hindu far-right political party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) given his conduct and topic choices for “news coverage” on his YouTube channel.

His station, which poses as a digital news outlet, is actually a Hindu nationalist platform that frequently promotes intolerance and anti-Islamic sentiment. His posts on social media are obviously anti-Muslim and anti-Islam. He never misses an opportunity to label Muslims as “terrorists,” “traitors,” “outsiders,” and “Jihadis.” He thinks India is a nation of Hindus because he supports the RSS, a group that advocates for extreme Hinduism.

Kashap is a history sheeter who has been charged on numerous charges with disseminating false information, inciting hatred, terror, and disorderly conduct. In order to promote nationalism, he requested on social media in 2019 that individuals damage the old marble statue of King Edward VI. Following his appeal, the statue at West Champaran, Bihar’s hospital complex was broken, and Kashyap was arrested by the police.

He and his colleagues attacked Kashmiri shopkeepers in Patna, the capital of Bihar, in the same year in retaliation for the terror incident in Pulwama on February 14, 2019. He yelled at them to go back to Kashmir. In response to complaints made against him, he was taken into custody.

Shahrukh Khan has been disparaged for having a Muslim name, and he has been called “hakla” (a stammerer) for his accent. Along with other Hindu fanatics, he waged a persistent boycott campaign against his most recent movie, “Pathan.”

Additionally, Kashyap is said to have misused donations made for philanthropic causes. Kashyap released numerous videos in 2019 requesting funds for the care of a child by the name of Ayansh. According to reports, Kashyap’s donation request resulted in the collection of more than 80 million rupees into his account. Kashyap allegedly embezzled money in the middle, preventing it from reaching the needy family in full. Additionally, a First Information Report (FIR) was filed for forgery and cheating at the Bettiah Nagar Police Station in Bihar. Additionally, he is facing more than a dozen criminal prosecutions in several jurisdictions, including accusations of rioting, attempted murder, blackmail, criminal conspiracy, and more.

Along with disseminating false information and propaganda, he frequently promotes the ‘Love Jihad’ anti-Muslim conspiracy theory and other similar notions. A Hindu girl cannot marry a Muslim, according to Kashyap, “at any cost.” Kashyap even ran for the Bihar Legislative Assembly in 2020 from the Chanpattia assembly constituency and lost. He did this to achieve fame through political egotism.

The Bihar police detained Kashyap in March 2023 for spreading false information on the abuse of migrant laborers from Bihar in the state of Tamil Nadu. He had posted numerous videos that allegedly depicted persons who spoke Hindi getting beaten up in Tamil Nadu, a southern state. Other migrant laborers were forced to leave the southern state as a result of his ‘aggressive’ reporting on the subject, which sparked fear. A complaint was made against Kashyap and a few others after it was discovered that the videos they posted on social media were phony and manufactured. Kashyap avoided the police up until his possessions were seized, at which point he turned himself in to the authorities.
