Mohit Alias Monu ‘Manesar’

Islamophobic Remarks :

Hindu militant vigilante Mohit, also known as Monu Manesar, is based in Manesar, Haryana. He calls himself a “gau rakshak” (cow protector), and he manages a separate law enforcement agency under the pretense of stopping alleged cow smuggling in the state.

He and other Hindu extremists travel the highways in the state of Haryana armed with rifles and revolvers, patrolling, pursuing, and firing gunshots at suspected livestock-carrying vehicles.

His YouTube channel and Facebook page are filled with excessively violent and openly armed images. Jab tak todenge nahi tab tak chodenge nahi is his catchphrase, meaning “we won’t leave until we break you.”

His Facebook page states, “The Constitution of India has tied our hands; otherwise, we are literally beasts.”

While the police stood by, he actively took part in numerous Muslim lynchings relating to cattle. Their covert link is shown by his gratitude for the Haryana State Police’s assistance in his hate- and violence-filled campaign for cow protection.

He claims that the fake “love jihad” will be exposed and that “we and our team will finish them, openly, we don’t fear incarceration, and we have ample support” (from the administration).

His vigilantism and brutality are carried out in total impunity with the political system’s full backing and support. Mohit was one of the organizers of a Manesar panchayat that called for a “economic boycott of Muslim shopkeepers and vendors” in the region in July 2022.

Under the guise of cattle smuggling, Mohit and his crew viciously beat Waris, a 22-year-old (Muslim) mechanic in Nuh, Haryana, in February 2023. In a vegetative state when he was turned over to the police, Waris later passed away in a hospital. While the video of his lynching made the rounds on social media, the police claimed it was an accident on the road. Mohit and his fellow militants are accused of killing Waris, according to his family.

A family accused Mohit and his crew of kidnapping, killing, and setting ablaze the bodies of two Muslim males on February 16 due to suspicions of cow smuggling.
