Call for Violence
According to reports, Pramod Muthalik, the leader of the Hindu extremist group, Sri Ram Sena, has been inciting violence against Muslims. During a recent speech, he advocated for the destruction of the Jumma Mosque in Karnataka’s Gadag, much like the Babri Mosque was demolished in Ayodhya in 1992.

Violence
Members of Sri Ram Sena, a Hindutva extremist group led by Pramod Muthalik known for his anti-Muslim rhetoric, brutally attacked and stabbed two Muslim youths, Tausif (23) and Musthaq (24), during a Muharram procession in Mallasamudra village of Gadag taluk in Karnataka state.
Reports suggest that a scuffle broke out between two groups during the procession, and Somesh Gudi of Sri Ram Sena attacked Tausif with a knife, leaving him critically injured. The injured victims are receiving treatment at Jim’s Hospital.
SP Shivprakash Devaraju confirmed that Yallappa and Somu had been arrested in connection with the incident, and stated that the motive for the attack remains unclear. Still, the priority is to treat Tausif’s severe injuries.
“Trap Muslim Girls”
“If we lose one Hindu girl, we should get ten Muslim girls. If you do so, Sri Ram Sene will take the responsibility of you & provide all kind of security & employment,” Muthalik told the crowd.
According to the Hindustan Times, Pramod Muthalik, the leader of the Hindutva group Sri Ram Sene, urged Hindu men in Karnataka to entice Muslim girls as a countermeasure to “love jihad,” a baseless conspiracy theory suggesting that Muslim men lure Hindu women for conversion to Islam.
Muthalik proposed that if one Hindu girl is lost to “love jihad,” ten Muslim women should be targeted in retaliation.
He assured the audience that the Sri Rama Sene would provide complete protection and even employment. He also claimed that it was the responsibility of the Sri Rama Sene to warn Hindu girls about “love jihad,” which he alleged was exploiting hundreds of girls across the country. Full story here
Calls for banning Muslim seminaries
Pramod Muthalik, the leader of Sri Ram Sene and an extremist associated with the Hindutva ideology, has called for the state and central governments to prohibit Madrasas, claiming that Hindu taxpayers’ money is being squandered on this form of education in the country. Muthalik has also threatened to launch a nationwide campaign against Madrasas.
Calls on Hindus to keep swords
During an event, the leader of Sri Ram Sene, Pramod Muthalik, urged Hindus to keep swords at home in order to safeguard their religion, women, and country.
Hate Speeches
- Pramod Muthalik on October 10, 2015 in Hyderabad asked all Hindus to keep swords in their houses for “self-protection” and to protect “our sisters”.[17]
- Sri Rama Sene chief Pramod Muthalik on October 8th urged Hindus to stop business with Muslims and to economically boycott them.
- He said, “Muslims are opposing the construction of Rama Mandir at Ayodhya. They are also opposing the anti-cow slaughter bill. They don’t want to sing Vande Mataram. Until they stop opposing these, Hindus should stop economic activities with them,” he said during the Matr Pooja celebration in Mangaluru on Sunday.[18]
- Pramod Muthalik, chief of Sri Ram Sene stooped to a new low, compared late Gauri Lankesh to a dog. On June 17, he said-“Two murders took place in Karnataka and two in Maharashtra in Congress rule. No one questioned Congress govt failure. Instead, they are asking why is PM Modi silent and not speaking on Gauri Lankesh’s death. Is Modi responsible even if any dog dies in Karnataka?”[19]
- On 26 April 2022, Sri Ram Sena chief Pramod Muthalik while delivering a speech at an event in Bagalkot in Karnataka warned-“Not just in Karnataka, but in any corner of the country — on Ram Navami, Hanuman Jayanti, Ganesh Chaturthi or on any festival — if one stone is pelted, then 1,000 stones will be pelted on Muslims. God has also given us two hands, be warned,”[20]
- Pramod Muthalik on May 28 said in Karnataka, “We will take back all 30,000 temples which were demolished to build masjids. Stop us if you have the guts. You people warned of bloodshed during demolition of Babri Masjid. What happened to that? You couldn’t take even a single drop of blood of Hindus.”[21]
- Hindu Sena chief Pramod Muthalik on August 23,2022 had warned his workers will chop off the hands of those who try to put down the Hindutva ideologue’s posters. “If you touch Savarkar’s poster, we will chop your hands off and throw it away. It’s a warning,” Muthalik, the chief of the Rashtriya Hindu Sena, said.[22]
- Addressing a Hindu convention on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti at Yadravi town on Thursday, he said that the sword should be displayed at homes in such a way that it can be clearly visible to all those who visit them.
- Stating that police officials will not lodge any complaint if a sword is kept at home, he said that exhibiting the weapon is not meant to kill anyone, but to protect the women.[23]
- Speaking at a public event in Karnataka’s Bagalkote, Muthalik said, “We are aware of the situation. I would like to invite the youth here. If we lose one Hindu girl, we should trap 10 Muslim girls. If you do so, Shri Ram Sena will take responsibility for you and provide every kind of security and employment.” [24]
- On March 3rd, Controversial chief Sri Rama Sene in Karnataka Pramod Muthalik has slammed the BJP leaders in the state for seeking votes in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Ahead of the upcoming Karnataka assembly election, Muthalik, who was in Karwar, asked people to beat leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party “with slippers” if they take Modi’s name during the door-to-door campaign.[25][26]
