Rakesh Rajguru

Islamophobic Remarks :

Rakesh Rajguru is the chief of the Bajrang Dal, a Hindu militant group in Rajasthan, and a cow vigilante. Rajguru has become well-known for his unwavering support of anti-Islamic emotions and the dissemination of ideas that promote Hindu supremacist beliefs.

He posted a video of Hindu radical leader Rajpurohit Sohan Singh calling Muslims “jihadists,” “Islamists,” and “dogs” on Facebook in June 2022. Additionally, Singh made the untrue claim that at least 45% of Hindu girls in Rajasthan were victims of “Love Jihad,” a conspiracy theory promoted by Hindu supremacists that holds that Muslim men woo Hindu women in an effort to convert them to Islam.

In August 2023, Rajguru made a speech to a gathering put on by the Bajrang Dal unit in the area. In it, he called Muslims “Jihadis” and “intruders,” reinforcing the idea that “Hindus are in danger.” He warned of the purported impending Islamic state by 2030 and urged the crowd to band together against imagined threats from the Muslim community.

In a video that was uploaded to his YouTube account, Rajguru is shown criticizing Muslims specifically and spreading the notion of a “love jihad” during a hateful speech in front of an enthusiastic audience. He claimed that Muslims are utilizing Hindu women to increase their numbers and spreading terror in people’s minds in order to transform India into an Islamic state.

Rajguru said in a live Facebook video released in August 2023 that there had been a spate of anti-Muslim violence in the state of Haryana, which had resulted in the deaths of many Hindus. In addition, he charged that Muslims in the area were planning to obstruct a scheduled Hindu religious parade.

Rajguru has been linked to several well-known Hindu radicals who have a history of using genocidal rhetoric against Muslims, such as Parvin Togadia and Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati.
