Former Indian civil servant Sanjay Dixit is a Hindu far-right “thinker” and “writer” who serves as the chairman of “The Jaipur Dialogues.”
A far-right think organization called The Jaipur Dialogues has more than a million YouTube subscribers. The organization is committed to promoting hatred against Muslims as well as constant references to Hindu supremacy and hyper-nationalism.
He has actively spread conspiracy theories about Muslims, such as “love jihad,” “land jihad,” and “Mazar jihad.” He is a seasoned Islamophobe who frequently disparages and mocks Islam. On his YouTube channels, he hosts a number of programmes, including “Islam” and “Deen Ki Dawat,” which are completely focused on criticizing Islam.
Dixit has a history of making bizarre and inflammatory comments, which have frequently gotten him into trouble. His prejudice and hostility have gotten stronger over time.
Dixit was demoted from his post as Rajasthan Cricket Association Secretary in 2011. Lalit Modi, the suspended commissioner of the Indian Premier League (IPL), backed Dixit’s suspension and said that she “was ruining cricket in Rajasthan.” Incorrect RCA functioning has grown commonplace.
Asserting the need to “reclaim and defend the spirit of the Constitution of India, as envisaged by the founding fathers,” 65 retired civil service officers urged “all public authorities, public institutions, and Constitutional bodies to take heed of these disturbing trends and take corrective action” in response to “rising authoritarianism and majoritarianism” in an open letter that was published in July 2017.
In retaliation, Dixit criticized the signatories’ motivations and credentials, branding them as having a “colonial mindset.”
Dixit was summoned by Kolkata Police in 2018 while working for the Rajasthan government in relation to spreading a false notice from the West Bengal government extending Eid holidays. Dixit had called West Bengal the “Islamic State of West Bangladesh” in a tweet that he later took down.
When Javed Akhtar won the Richard Dawkins Award in 2020, he was furious. He labeled the well-known Bollywood scriptwriter and lyricist as a “hardcore Islamist sympathizer.”
He spread false material in his book, “Delhi Riots 2020: The Untold Story,” which claimed that Muslims and liberals/leftists (Urban-Naxal-Jihadi) plotted the anti-Muslim riots in Delhi in February 2020.
The book was later published by the Hindu far-right publication Garuda Prakashan when Bloomsbury India refused to publish it.
