Islamophobic Remarks :
Hindu Mahasabha, the Hindu extremist group responsible for the killing of Mahatma Gandhi, is led by ultra-right nationalist and extreme Hindu Shankar Gaikar.
He is infamous for his hateful attitude against minorities, especially Muslims and Christians. His fundamental ideology is Hindutva militarization and Universalization.
He brags about his active participation in the demolition of the Babri Masjid and celebrates the Bajrang Dal, a hardline Hindu organization, for taking part in anti-Muslim riots in Godhra, Gujarat, in 2002.
In response to the Supreme Court’s decision over the Babri dispute, he stated, “I feel proud to have contributed to the purging of sins by demolishing the Babri Mosque. I returned to Mumbai with a sense of satisfaction and I don’t regret it.”
Gaikar declares without reservation, “We have won Ayodhya despite bloodbaths…I have no fear.In Gujarat, during the 2002 Gujarat Pogrom, these Bajrang Dal members bravery was displayed in support of Ram Mandir.
He wants to transform India into a Hindu Rashtra because he detests the “secular” aspect of Indian politics. He declared, “These seculars, who are neither male nor female (eunuchs), are the enemies of our country,” at a Hindu Mahasabha event in Thane, Maharashtra.When will we Hindus exact retribution on the Muslims now that France and Germany have done so? Will you Hindus sit around like way, where are that arch and bow of Lord Ram?”
He romanticizes cow vigilantism and considers it a blessing that his name includes the word “Gai” (cow). He thinks that unless India entirely outlaws cow slaughter, it cannot become a Hindu Rashtra.
Speaking at a rally (Shaurya Path Sanchalan) in Boiser, Maharashtra in January 2023, he declared: “We Hindus are at our core compassionate beings, and we (Hindus) have always been so. Muslims are innately cruel; cruelty is in their blood.”These clerics did not spare the Prophet’s family, and now that they are free to roam our nation, this harsh practice is no longer valid. There has been a harsh custom for a very long time. Look around your neighborhood and discipline anyone attempting to pursue us. They swear to destroy us,” they say.
Muslims shouldn’t be enlisted in the Indian Army, according to Gaikar, because “there have been incidents of weapons and ammunition being stolen from the security forces.” These weapons are utilized by our own forces against them. Therefore, it is necessary to cease recruiting Kashmiri Muslim youngsters.
He has publicly called for the genocide of Muslims and urged Hindus to arm themselves.
