Islamophobic Remarks :
Hindu nationalist and BJP youth leader Shikhar Agarwal hails from Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. He is among those charged in the 2018 Bulandshahr brutal murder of Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh.
400 individuals, including right-wing extremists, formed a crowd on December 3, 2018, and they aggressively tore through the village of Chingrawathi, accusing Muslims of tossing cow corpses into the neighboring jungle. As Singh’s driver tried to stuff him into his SUV and drive him to the hospital, he got struck by a stone while attempting to pacify the unruly throng. But Agarwal’s violent Hindu crowd pursued the vehicle, trapped it in a field, and used a gun to kill the policeman.
In 2015, Singh served as the investigative officer in the lynching case of Dadri. Even after the tragedy, he continued to visit Dadri village on a regular basis to maintain unity and peace among the inhabitants.
The first information report (FIR) had 60 other unidentified protestors in addition to Agarwal, who was one of the 28 named defendants. More than a dozen provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) were invoked in the instances, including 124A (sedition), 302 (murder), 395 (dacoity), and 333 (causing serious hurt to dissuade public worker from his job).
According to India Today, Agarwal was greeted with applause and the phrases “Jai Shri Ram,” “Bharat Mata ki Jai,” and “Vande Mataram” when he was granted bail in August 2019.
Agarwal was named general secretary of PM Jankalyankari Yojna Jagrukta Abhiyan (PMJYJA) for the Bulandshahr district by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in July 2020, but he was forced to resign following criticism from a number of sources.
