Islamophobic Remarks :
Senior Sangh Parivar leader Suraj Pal Amu serves as the BJP’s spokesperson in Haryana at the moment.
Amu, a graduate of law and a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh since the age of 10, comes from a Rajput family in Gurgaon’s Sohna town. He served in the ABVP, the student arm of the BJP, from 1984 to 1986 while he was still a student. He earned degrees from Maharshi Dayanand University and Lucknow University.
He has held positions in the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the BJP’s youth wing, including State Secretary, State Vice-President, and Member of the National Executive.
He was elected Chairman of the Hindu militant organization Karni Sena in 2019. He further asserts that he is the president-elect of the All India Yog Sports Association as well as the chairman of the Mahashya Bhim Singh Memorial Education Society.
Amu credits Narendra Modi, the prime minister, as his inspiration. He told a journalist, “I have been a BJP worker for 25 to 26 years; I learned to walk holding Modi ji’s finger.”
He gained notoriety in 2017 after offering a bounty for the actor Deepika Padukone’s beheading due to the controversies around the movie “Padmaavat.”
During a Mahapanchayat (mass meeting) on May 30, 2021, Amu justified the lynching of Asif Khan by declaring: “Our boys are not guilty. The images of our sisters and daughters are distorted by them (Muslims). Should we not even kill them? On May 16, 2021, a group of Hindus murdered Khan in the Indian state of Haryana.
He added, “They (Muslims) cut their moustaches, we can cut throats,” in another hate rant. The Muslims will be eliminated one by one (chun chun ke thokenge).”
“Agar Bharat hamaari maata hai, toh Pakistan ke hum baap hain, aur ye Pakistani… ko hum yahan ke gharon mein kiraye par makan nahin denge,” Amu stated to another Mahapanchyat on July 5, 2021. If India is our mother, then we are the father of Pakistan, and we would not lend out properties to Pakistanis here, in the words of In…ko is desh se nikaalo… Pass this resolution and expel them from this nation,” declared Amu.
Saif Ali Khan, an actor, and his family were also threatened by him for beginning “love jihad” in Haryana’s Pataudi.
“Those who were responsible for Taimur’s birth are also Pataudi. We understand how to show respect. We want to tell Kareena, the mother of Taimur, that enough is enough,” he stated.
“This love jihad has been going on since Sharmila Tagore’s time, and it all started in Pataudi. Only you Pataudians will make it. Stop embracing them, he continued.
Some of his contentious remarks include:
“When the nation was divided in 1947, we seen the bodies of 10 lakh people. There is no current count of those bodies. Additionally, we are giving them shops and homes. It has been discovered that Pataudi is building parks. Remove the park’s stone. Which of the children is capable of removing the stone?
“Neither Taimur, nor Aurangzeb, nor Babur, nor Humayun will be born if you want to make history in this land; if you don’t want to become history. We have 100 billion and they have 20 billion.
In a speech in July 2021, Amu argued that Muslims should be expelled from the nation: “If India is our mother, then we are the father of Pakistan, and we will not rent them houses here.” Accept my suggestion and expel them from this nation.
“We can slit throats, they (Muslims) trim their mustaches… Amu continued, “We shall eliminate them (Muslims) one by one (chun chun ke thokenge).
