Islamophobic Remarks :
Hindu militant Vijay Kant Chauhan, a self-described cow vigilante, also describes himself as a “protector” of Hindu ladies from the fraud known as “love jihad.”
He rides around on vibrant bikes, spreading the ideology of “love Jihad” throughout western Uttar Pradesh state while sporting the “uniform” of the Indian army, Jai Shri Ram (Hail Lord Ram) tattooed on his chest, and holding a naked sword in his hand.
Under the pretense of promoting awareness of “love Jihad” and “cow protection,” Vijay visits schools, coaching facilities, parks, and other public locations and spews anti-Muslim venom. He asks people to clench their fists while he administers a sort of oath, saying, “Imagine that your fist is around a love jihadi’s, traitor’s, neck; imagine that you are squeezing his neck and his blood is dripping on the floor and you are extracting satisfaction and content that you are a true patriot, protector of your religion, and servant of Mother India.”
He is one of the well-known cow vigilantes in Uttar Pradesh who have turned to’mob lynching’ (of Muslims) as a strategy to stop the alleged smuggling and killing of cows in the state. He praises the performance of the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and claims that “under his leadership, India is transitioning to a Hindu Rashtra without cow slaughter.”
Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, the regional government, and the police, according to Vijay, all support him. Poonam Singh Pundhir, his legal advisor, claimed that the local authority provides him with “all kinds of internal support.” She added that the police had given him firearms (country-made handguns) to assist the cause.
When he declares, “Islam is the root of all problems… all Madrasas (Traditional Islamic institutions of religious learning) should be shut down as they breed terrorism,” his anti-Islamic sentiment is more than apparent.
“These bastard Mullahs (Muslim clergy) who live in India and sing praises for Pakistan, these terrorists shall have no route to escape death,” he claimed. “The day Hindus get rid of the virus of secularism,” he added.
He had claimed that Muslims were deliberately spreading corona through their “spit jihad” during the COVID pandemic, and that the government should label them terrorists and execute them in a police shootout. This claim was made in response to the widespread propaganda spread during the COVID pandemic by Hindu extremists. He urges the mass execution of Muslims, claiming that the only way India can guarantee peace is by treating Muslims the same way Israel does. Give us a day, and we’ll hang them all naked in the streets if the government hesitates.
