Vishnu Sadashiv Kokje

Islamophobic Remarks :

A prominent member of the RSS and the previous leader of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), Vishnu Sadashiv Kokje.

On September 6, 1939, in the Madhya Pradesh village of Dahi, in the Dhar district, Vishnu Sadashiv Kokje was born. His education was finished in Dhar, followed by degrees in mathematics, statistics, and economics from Holkar College in Indore and a law degree from the Government Arts and Commerce College in Indore. In 1964, he began practicing law after earning his post-graduate degree in sociology from Christian College in Indore.

Before being appointed a judge of the MP High Court in 1990, he practiced law for 26 years. In 1994, he was moved to the Rajasthan High Court, where he served as an administrative judge for the following four years. He served as the Rajasthan High Court’s interim chief justice for 11 months before retiring in 2001.

Kokje was appointed governor of Himachal Pradesh during the Atal Bihari Vajpayee administration.

In 2018, Kokje joined VHP. The Central Intelligence Agency’s (CIA) World Factbook has long listed VHP as a religious militant group. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a far-right Hindu nationalist organization founded in 1925 in the style of staunch nationalist organizations in Europe, seeks to establish an ethnically Hindu-majority state in India. The VHP is an affiliate of the RSS. The VHP is accused of planning many attacks on Muslims and Christians in hundreds of riots across the nation as part of its decades-long drive to convert India into a Hindu nation.
