Islamophobic Remarks :
Dr. John Flaks, an anesthesiologist from Maryland, sent a user a direct message on Instagram with the following message: “Release the hostages or Rafah will realize another nakba”
Dr. Flaks was employed by the Maryland hospital system MedStar Health, which announced in a statement after the incident that he was leaving the company. This remark was their denunciation of “hate speech.”

Lutherville, Maryland, is home to anesthesiologist Dr. John Flaks. He has been in practice for 17 years, having graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine with a medical degree. In 2004, he finished his anesthesiology residency at the University of Maryland.
