Islamophobic Remarks :

A politician with the Bharatiya Janata Party from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, is named Suresh Tiwari. He now serves as the UP Legislative Assembly’s representative for the Barhaj district.

He oversaw an online campaign accusing Muslims of spreading the coronavirus in April 2020. Later, he made a video pleading with people not to purchase produce from Muslims.

“Remember one thing. I’m being honest with everyone. There is no need to purchase vegetables from’miyans’ (Muslims),” he stated.

He explained his claim by saying, “On April 18, I was giving out masks to residents of Deoria when people began complaining that Tablighi Jamaat was spreading the illness. Many of them were concerned that Muslim merchants were slobbering on the vegetables.

As a responsible MLA, I urged them to avoid using the law to resolve the issue and to instead stop purchasing veggies from the Muslims. If I uttered such things, tell me what I did wrong, he continued.
