Islamophobic Remarks :
The Hindu Raksha Sena, a group that advocates Hindu supremacy and is centered in the state of Uttarakhand, is led by Swami Prabodhanand Giri. He formerly served as the Sanatan Dharma Mahasangh’s national president.
Giri is renowned for giving anti-Muslim hate speeches in which he calls on Hindus to arm themselves and kill Muslims.
In order to “contribute toward conserving, preserving, and protecting Hindutva and the society,” he urged Hindus to have eight children in 2017.
In addition to other anti-Muslim views, he claimed that exclusively Muslims rape Hindu women in a lecture given in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh, in 2018. He also discussed the myth of “love jihad.”
Giri made homicidal remarks on Muslims in a video that he co-wrote with the Hindu militant priest Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati in June 2021.
“In the entire world, if we want humanity to last, we will need to clean it of jihadis. There should be treatment, management for jihadis on this earth. A few days ago someone said that in Islam, rapists are born, jihadis are born – I have been saying this for some time, there is a jihadi and a terrorist in each Islamic home… Hindu society needs to stand up and find a cure for jihadis, otherwise these jihadis will find a cure for Hindus, and there will be no place on this earth for us to live… One thing is certain, if he comes into my space and I find out, he will not leave. I have lived for 14 years among jihadis, I’m not that weak… They should not think that if Narsinghanand or I are killed, you can live happily. There will be a pile of corpses, across the country you will see corpses. This is certain, nobody will stop us,” Giri said.
He advocated for replicating the genocide committed against the Rohingya in India between December 17 and 19, 2021, while he was a speaker at the Hindu Dharma Sansad (Hindu Religious Parliament) in Haridwar, Uttarakhand.
“We need to start getting ready. And I’ll explain what those preparations are. I’ll be clear: This is the solution, and if you adopt it, the way will be prepared for you. Hindus were being driven out of Myanmar. The government, law enforcement, and politicians were all just observing. They began by cutting off their necks to kill them, then they later started to cut them up in the streets and devour them. The individuals who were watching believed that we would not survive and would die, according to Giri.
This is where we are right now. At the border with Delhi, you may have witnessed the hanging and execution of Hindus. There is no more time; the only options are to get ready to kill or to be ready to prepare to die now. This is the reason why, similar to Myanmar, the local police, local politicians, the local army, and every Hindu must take up arms, and we must carry out this cleanliness drive (safai abhiyan). There is no other solution, Giri continued.
Giri made an anti-Muslim statement on January 2, 2022 in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
“There are only a select few who read the Quran; those who comprehend it turn to jihad.” We will fight back against each and every extremist in India and rid the nation of their influence. Swachh Bharat, we will make it a clean and holy (pavitra) Bharat, is what the Prime Minister declared. You will receive blessings from Lord Ram and Krishna if you keep weapons to combat irreligion, like Ram did in the Mahabharata. There is no other way to combat Jihadis than with weapons, according to Giri.
Giri is likewise thought to be close to the BJP leadership. Giri has posted pictures of himself with Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, on two separate occasions.
On August 12, 2021, he was also captured in a photo with Shri Dhan Singh Rawat, the BJP member and higher education minister for Uttarakhand. He was also captured in a photo in June 2021 holding a sword from former Uttarakhand chief minister and BJP member Tirath Singh Rawat.
