Upholding the conspiracy of genocide denial

CEO Tanay Tandon creates software for the healthcare industry at Athelas and Commure. He recently shared a now-disproved claim on Instagram that misidentifies a Palestinian youngster who lost his limb as journalist Saleh Aljafarawi, thereby escalating the “Pallywood” conspiracy.

He posts a video of the crippled 16-year-old Mohammed Zendiq—who lost his leg during an Israeli raid of the Nur Shams refugee camp on July 24—with the comment “Hamas lies run deep” on his Instagram story.

Both of his posts—that Palestinian casualties are merely “lies” and that injured civilians are affiliated with Hamas—constitute the dehumanization and denial of genocide that enable the continued rationalization of further civilian deaths in Gaza.

He hasn’t apologized or provided a retraction since sharing. He still likes blogs that propagate further myths, like beheaded newborns and mass rape, and criticize ceasefires.
