Islamophobic Remarks :
Onlyfact.in, a propaganda website owned by Vijay Patel, acts as a disinformation factory against opponents of Hindu nationalism and the current Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) administration.
The absurdity of the Hindu nationalist ecosystem is highlighted by organizations like Onlyfact, which not only manufacture fake news in large quantities but also offer ‘fact-checking’ services to further solidify the untruth by vindicating disinformation of flaws by self-declaring them as facts. This is how false information and propaganda are regularly fed into the public discourse and presented as truths.
News organizations and fact-checking websites have regularly drawn attention to Patel’s depravity and cruel game of spreading misinformation and lies. His misrepresentation of data isn’t going ignored, as news organizations like The Wire, Newslaundry, Altnews, etc. have been closely monitoring his divisive campaign and frequently refuting the inaccuracies he spreads.
Some of his blatant lies, through which he attempted to undermine the credibility of the former, have been refuted by Newslaundry in a report. He even went so far as to claim that news websites like The News Minute, Newslaundry, and Quint were being supported by financial organizations with headquarters in the US and were waging a “propaganda war” against India. This is particularly Patel’s trademark method of operation. He changes quite conveniently to accuse news organizations of being “anti-national and anti-Hindu conspirators” for refusing to submit to the BJP’s Hindu nationalist rule.
He called Mohammed Zubair, the co-founder of Altnews, a “ISIS slave” out of frustration over the organization’s unceasing vigilance. He begs Hindus to give money to his so-called fact-checking organization, which he uses to spread false information and anti-Muslim propaganda all the time.
He frequently tweets false information to support the Love Jihad hoax and other conspiracy theories that seek to demonize Muslims and lay the groundwork for violence against them.
Fake news and misinformation are frequently used as weapons against Muslims on Patel’s Twitter page. In a recent speech to the UN, journalist Rana Ayyab highlighted the grave human rights violations occurring in India. Patel tweeted, “Fraudster Rana Ayyub is sitting in the UN building and spreading hate against India.”
His outfit openly supports the Hindu far-right Bhartiya Janata Party, as shown by Onlyfact’s investigations into the Adani scam, which involved tax evasion, money laundering, and import-export problems. In his quest to establish Gautam Adani’s innocence, a close associate of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Patel did not spare any effort.
