R. James Woolsey
OVERVIEW
R. James Woolsey is the former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (1993-1995) who served on CSP's board and advisory capacity. His involvement lent establishment credibility to an organization that the SPLC designates as an anti-Muslim hate group.
CSP INVOLVEMENT
- Served on CSP's board of directors/advisory council
- Participated in CSP events and publications
- Co-authored elements of CSP's "Team B II" report on sharia
SIGNIFICANCE
Woolsey's CIA credentials gave CSP's claims about Muslim Brotherhood infiltration an undeserved veneer of intelligence community authority. His participation in CSP's "Shariah: The Threat to America" report helped mainstream conspiracy theories about Islamic subversion within national security circles.
